Tip of the Week

This was original made in a discussion that was taking place during our weekday mastermind session on Twitch.

One of the best ways to grow a social media paid is through paid traffic.

In the example of a paid advertising funnel above the ads will bring traffic to your social page where you can cross sell products or services too.

Known as Return on Investment (ROI) with social media your ROI just needs to break even because the result of making your money back you’ll also end up with an audience (followers) you can use more down the road.

It’s almost as simple as it looks!

Tips in how to build your holiday advertising

We are in the last few weeks of 2020, and now is a good time to build those last minute campaigns to try to make some last minute holiday sales. Building a short term content planner can be a challenge, but it’s one that is achievable.

  1. Map out goals –  this can be the easy part, but knowing if the goals are too high to achieve is good. Make sure that the goals are built to be trackable and not too unrealistic. This also can give a general guide where to take your content in the ads you build.
  2. Remember who your audience is – this is key, as how you build the language and imagery of the advertisements will be important to keep them interested and lead them to a conversion. Anything outside of their comfort zone could potentially turn them off from what your message is.
  3. Keep the content varied – create some ads with videos, some with imagery and text, some with a unique composition and a unique call to action, the list goes on. This keeps your audience from burning out and getting used to scrolling past the same advertisement over and over again. Since it is holiday season, the options are nearly endless how you can translate that into your ads.
  4. Don’t forget to have fun –  it’s the holidays, you can create content that is fun for both the audience, as well as yourself. Be willing to be unique in your messaging. It could surprise you how well an idea could work!

Remember this is just a short term campaign plan geared towards these last few weeks over the Holidays. Spread some cheer and be open to spicing things up!

DID YOU KNOW…

…that the Federal Trade Commission and 48 attorneys general sued Facebook on Wednesday?

But why?
Facebook is being accused of engaging in anticompetitive behavior to illegally maintain its personal social networking monopoly, starting with the acquisitions of prior competitors — Instagram in 2012, then WhatsApp in 2014 — though both had initially been approved by the FTC.

Additionally, the complaint alleges Facebook to be imposing anticompetitive conditions on third-party software developers by restricting access to valuable interconnections to its platform, including its application programming interfaces.

So what if the FTC and state attorneys succeed? Among other things, Facebook may be required to:

  • Divest its assets, Instagram and WhatsApp
  • Restructure policies around accessing its APIs and user data
  • Seek prior notice and approval for future mergers and acquisitions valued over $10 million

For now, digital advertisers should expect to see no major or immediate changes, as antitrust lawsuits tend to drag out for years.
