Tip of the Week

This image came from one of our sessions talking about the difference between Generalizing and Specializing in Marketing. Now this graph doesn’t express all of the facets within digital marketing and is still a work in progress…

But as you know our community doesn’t mind showcasing unfinished work! This chart gives you an idea…

When starting off as a digital marketer make sure to specialize because in due time you’ll see your position evolving and you’ll learn additional skills that support your specialization. For example, if you’re good at Facebook lead generation it’s only a matter of time until you have to learn email marketing for retargeting!

EDUCATIONAL PORTION

As more consumers adapt to the chaos surrounding 2020, there’s no question that there’s been a dramatic rise in online shoppers across the globe.

According to DCI, Holiday Ecommerce sales were up 26% year-over-year back in September, a record-breaking high. As a result, now more than ever should businesses implement social strategies to boost their online presence.

Here are some ways we can do that:

  • Be social on social media platforms. This may sound like a no-brainer, but the more we engage (comments, likes, direct messages, etc.) with our audience, the more likely our content will reach its intended audience and build loyal customers.
  • Remember: Content is king, but data is queen. No matter the topic, content posted on social media pages should aim to entertain, engage, and educate readers. Not sure what type of content to put out? Leverage data to derive actionable insights.
  • Expand reach via influencer marketing. Find influencers whose audiences’ values align with those of your brand. Furlough’s technology provides data-driven audience insights so that brands can maximize their outcome of collaboration with influencers, which you can learn more about here.

It’s important to note that, since every social page is different, each should implement unique strategies. No matter the platform, we must be specific as to what our industry and niche are.
