The trust scale

How standing works

Two numbers, one ladder, and a rule that decides all of it: nothing here can be awarded to yourself. Every point on this page came from somebody else — a member who vouched, a VIP who wrote a reference, or an admin who recorded that you were in the room.

φ PHI · Reputation

A score from 0 to 1000 that says what the room thinks of you. The highest member is always 1000, so φ is a position among people, not points in a wallet. It is recomputed from scratch every day — nobody, including an admin, can write it by hand.

  • A vouch counts 1.
  • A skill endorsement counts 6× a vouch, because a VIP put their name and a written note on it.
  • Attendance counts 2, and only an admin can issue it.
  • A handshake — a vouch that went both ways — is weighted 1.25×.

PHI POWER

What you earn by taking part, and it only goes up. Phi Power does two jobs: it moves you up the ladder below, and it decides how much your own vouches and endorsements are worth to the people you give them to.

  • Give a vouch: +10 ⚡ · receive one: +10
  • Receive a skill endorsement: +120 ⚡ · issue one: +30
  • Attend an event: +40 ⚡ · a handshake: +25
  • Finish your induction: +250

The rule that matters

A vouch from someone the room already trusts moves you further than ten from nobody.

Every credential is multiplied by the standing of whoever gave it, at 75% influence. That is what stops the obvious attack — a ring of new accounts vouching for each other adds almost nothing, because none of them has any standing to lend.

The ladder

Five levels, reached with Phi Power. Your level is public; it is the one word that says how much of the room’s work you have actually done.

It starts in the Discord.

Every vouch, every endorsement and every event happens in the room first. The record here is what the room leaves behind.
